Following is the story which scored a perfect score and first place in my heat for the first round of competition for NYC Midnight's Flash Fiction Challenge 2013. The Flash Fiction Challenge 2013 is a competition that challenges writers around the world to create short stories (1,000 words max. in 48 hours) based on genre, location, and object assignments. The assignment for the first round was MYSTERY/AIRPLANE/DVD. It's called, "The Holy Men Murders".

Following is the story which placed fifth in the third heat for the NYC Midnight's Flash Fiction Challenge 2013. This story allowed me to progress to the Final Round, consisting of the top 25 writers from each group. Flash Fiction Challenge started with approximately 675 participants. The assignment for the third round was FANTASY/COOKING CLASS/CIGARETTE.

Following is my submission for the FINAL ROUND of NYC Midnight's Flash Fiction Challenge 2013. This story won THIRD PLACE. Flash Fiction Challenge 13 started with approximately 675 participants, and ended with 25 in the finals. The assignment for the FINAL ROUND was OPEN GENRE/LAKE/SAFE.
